Government hikes petroleum prices

"The third time's the charm," they say. Pakistan's government, on the other hand, has proven them wrong. Petroleum prices have been raised three times in a row: once, twice, and now three times in a row. The price of petrol increased by Rs. 2.13 per liter on June 16th. The price of petrol increased by Rs. 2 per liter on July 1st. With effect from July 16th, the price has increased by Rs. 5.4 per liter.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) delivered a summary to the Petroleum Division, according to reports. OGRA suggested a price rise of Rs. 11.5, Rs. 2.40 for high-speed diesel, Rs. 1.40 for light-speed diesel, and Rs. 1.50 for kerosene oil. The idea was evaluated and approved by Prime Minister Imran Khan, with certain tweaks and changes. The revised rates were revealed today by the finance minister. The price of petrol has gone up by Rs. 5.4 while the price of diesel has gone up by Rs. 2.54.


Old Petrol Price:

Petrol was priced at Rs. 112.69 per litre under old Pakistani petroleum pricing. Diesel, light diesel, and kerosene oil, respectively, were priced at Rs. 113.99, Rs. 83.40, and Rs. 85.75.

New Prices:

The new petrol price is Rs. 118.09, while the new diesel price is Rs. 115.62, after the government's rise in petroleum rates. Light diesel and kerosene oil are now priced at Rs. 84.67 and Rs. 87.14, respectively.
