HONDA CIVIC vs KIA STONIC

Honda Civic has always been a market vehicle for the people of Pakistan. As you know KIA STONIC has already launched in Pakistani market and it is gaining a lot of popularity in the market. So, we decided to compare B-Segment Subcompact Crossover SUV with Honda Civic 1.8 Oriel which is a C-segment sedan. The main reason of comparing both the vehicles is the price range as both the cars have not much price difference so we decided to compare both of them. Here is the comparison.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

The engine of Civic is 1800cc VTEC with 138hp and 169Nm of Torque. Meanwhile, KIA Lucky Motors will offer 1400cc MPI engine in Stonic which produces 100hp and 133Nm of Torque. This means that Honda Civic has a clear edge on KIA Sonata as far as engine is concerned.

Well talking about the transmissions, the KIA’s crossover has 6-Speed Automatic Transmission and Honda’s sedan has Continuous variable transmission (CVT). Lastly, both cars have Front Wheel Drive (FWD) Drivetrain.

INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR

Talking about the Exterior of the care, the Stonic has LED Headlights with 4-Strip LED DRLs and Halogen Fog Lamps while Civic has Full LED Headlights, and LED DRLs and Fog Lamps. The size of Alloy Wheels of both the cars is similar and that is 16-inch. Well the tire sizes of both the cars are different, Stonic has 195/55/R16 and Civic has 215/55/R16 tire size.

Moreover, both vehicles have 6-Way Manual Adjustment, Keyless Entry, Auto AC, and Cruise Control as common options in them.

Well Stonic has an upper hand as far as interior is concerned. Stonic has 8-inch Floating Touchscreen and it has 4.2 inch LCD. While Honda on the other hand has 7-inch Touchscreen with Full Color TFT which makes Stonic superior to Honda.

Stonic’s seat material is made up of Fabric while in Civic the seat material is optional.

DIMENSION

The measurement of KIA Stonic car is 4140mm Long, 1760mm Wide and 1520mm High with 2580mm Wheelbase. While, Honda Civic is 4630mm Long, 1799mm Wide and 1433mm High with 2700mm Wheelbase.

Well by looking at the measurements it can be seen that Civic is longer and wider than Kia Stonic but it is lesser than Kia Stonic in prospect to height.

Talking about the Ground Clearance of both the cars, Kia Stonic has 183mm, while Civic has 153mm, making Kia Stonic superior.

SAFETY AND PRICE

Both cars have a number of common safety features including Traction Control, Hill Assist, Stability Control, and ABS + ABD. Meanwhile, KIA Stonic has Rear Parking Sensors and Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and Rear Camera. It is pertinent to mention that Rear Camera is optional in Honda Civic. Lastly, Stonic EX+ comes with 6 Airbags against 2 in Civic.

The new price of Honda Civic Oriel is Rs 4,259,000, while KIA Stonic EX+ is selling at in Rs 3,880,000, meaning it is a great option for the consumer.
